Mercy Health Residents Gain Valuable Hands-On Lab Experience

Mercy Health residents were back in the lab with Johnson and Johnson and DePuy
where students were able to gain valuable hands-on lab experience working on a robotic assisted knee surgery. At our facility, doctors and surgeons can practice with new devices, implants and techniques using modern equipment on high-quality, fresh-frozen human cadaveric tissue.

Mercy Health Residents Work On Cadavers In Recent Lab

(OCTOBER) Mercy Health residents were in recently for a Mosher Medical Acumed lab where residents got surgery experience. At YO LAB, we have all the tools needed for residents to learn as our fresh-frozen cadavers are one of these students' first patients, giving residents the opportunity to see anatomical variations, anomalies and pathological findings that they couldn't see using diagrams or slides.

Zimmer Biomet Lab Helps Local Podiatry Residents

(JULY) In a recent lab, East Liverpool City Hospital Podiatry Residents participated in Zimmer Biomet Lab where residents gained more experience using our top of the line equipment, such as a carm, Skytron 6001 surgery table, two arthroscopy towers featuring Stryker Crossfire consoles and more.

Mercy Health Hosts ASSET Course at YO LAB

(MAY) Earlier this year, Mercy Health chose YO LAB to host their ASSET course. In this trauma accreditation course, students are provided a manual prior to the course that overviews key surgical exposures in five anatomic areas: neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis, and upper and lower extremities. Then, the one-day cadaver-based course follows with hands-on exposure performed by students. YO LAB has all the tools needed to host CME courses that will prepare the next generation of doctors in our area.
